The Windjammers represent the most dedicated singers and choral leaders at Lake Oswego High School. With a more than 50 year tradition of excellent singing, these 28 young musicians perform traditional choral literature, vocal jazz, and contemporary a cappella music at the highest possible level- a true ‘hybrid ensemble.’ Each singer demonstrates a high level of musicianship and vocal ability through an annual audition and daily rehearsal and commits to leadership in the program by simultaneously enrolling in the A Cappella Choir. The choir serves as an ambassador for the school, performing frequently around Portland and the Pacific Northwest. The ensemble houses two auditioned a cappella groups called the Dockside Dollies (treble voices) and the Decks (tenors/basses). An annual favorite of the Lake Oswego community, the Windjammers produce a variety show consisting of full choir, small group, and solo performances which revolve around a theme.
